UPDATE: This issue only affects Geolocation plugin versions less than 3.0. Geolocation 3.0 and newer use Open Street Maps. We strongly recommend updating to the latest version to avoid this issue altogether.
If you’re an admin for a Curatescape site using a recent version of the Omeka Geolocation plugin by RRCHNM, you may have received an email notice regarding billing for the Google Maps Javascript API under the new Google Maps Platform. Please be advised that this only applies to the admin map interface and is unlikely to ever incur any additional cost, as the current version of the Curatescape theme uses Open Street Maps to display locations on the public side of your site. Nonetheless, we recommend that you follow Google’s instructions for adding billing information to remain in compliance with their terms of use.
